dazk ,@dustyelf I've never played any AC games. What are some of the things that make you really like the series? There are many things I like about Assassins Creed Odyssey. Right now I've finished the main mission but continue to play just to explore, craft and find the head cultist. The wide open world is amazing. I see a mountain in the far distance and can take a horse or walk to the top and back the other side without a loading screen. The animals, landscape villages and towns are so detailed and beautiful they look and feel real. The costumes are as well. So all that makes me want to explore. There's a lot to do in the game besides the main story which is pretty good. Lots of subplots, quests to do. I think there is a multiple ending for the main story. Don't normally like stealth in other games but stealth in ACOD is similar to the Far Cry games in that it's well done, easy to use and super fun to clear forts with. I'm using the bow and 2 daggers and there are a lot of skills you can use and toggle while in combat. Which makes combat a blast. Pretty good crafting system too. Excellent voice actress for Kassandra.

I love the stealth, trying to kill a whole fort full of people undetected is fantastic and some of the abilities are super fun. The flip side playing as a warrior and just wading through enemies setting every "Malaka" alight is also pretty fun. The world is amazing and Kassandra is my favourite female protagonist, funny, sassy and gorgeous. She also has a great sense of humour and her VA is great. The weakness is probably the story which for the amount of task in the open world is quite short and some of the quests can be repetitive. Ubisofts attempt at relationships is also pretty MEH but it was a first step and as long as you take them with a grain of salt and accept the humour of most of them they are OK.

dazk Have you played AC Origins? I noticed Ubisoft has started their Summer sale. Yes, it's a good game but the only thing I had trouble with was on PC, using the Keyboard was a bit of a nightmare for me as I am not great using multiple keys simultaneously. You have to use a key to raise your shield as well as all the other things and I just wasn't a fan of fighting warriors with enormous shields which just took forever. That said, it's a beautiful game, the world is fantastic and Bayek is a great protag but you also spend some time playing as his wife which was OK but didn't really work for me. Have you played Odyssey, sorry if I should remember that? The clearing forts etc. feels more repetitive than in Odyssey and you don't have the same abilities, as usual there is a large grind for resources. The story at the beginning is a bit of a mess. There are some very good quests though. All up if you are getting it cheap I don't think you'd be disappointed.

When I realized Odyssey and Origins are RPG's recently it caught my attention a little. Origin's price is close to that sweet spot at the Uplay store and I'm thinking about grabbing it during their Summer sale. I do have AC2. I added that to my library when Ubisoft was giving it away. I was looking at several sites that ranked the AC games and noticed that AC2 is ranked pretty high. I may download it and give it a try pretty soon. I like the Far Cry franchise and think Ubisoft has done pretty good with it. I don't know what the AC games are like, but I know Ubi can make quality games to my liking.

Odyssey and Origins are very different to the older games. I think Odyssey is superior in terms of gameplay, combat and it takes an extra step (yet a small one) in terms of being an RPG. Odyssey has quasi romances/flings Origins has none of that and it has more "magical" abilities which I think make the game easier/better. Neither are a Bioware style RPG, what do you think @dustyelf

While Odessey has that it's not overwhelming. The main and side story line and quests are very good and kept me interested in finishing. After finishing the main quest, I've gone back and hunted all the cultist and am now continuing to explore and find other quests not related to the main story for fun. That's one of big differences between Odyssey and DAI or MEA. Flings are fun and totally skippable in Odyssey. Combat is super fun and just the right amount of magic, swords and bow. Found the magic abilities came in handy just when I needed it in combat. The skill trees mix very well too.

Thank you. This one is still up. It looks pretty good, similar to Odyssey. Boss fights are long.
