I love roaming and finding the mysteries, clearing cursed areas, jumping puzzles, and searching for wealth, combat is fun with nice finishing moves. The story is good too. Dag is not happy with Eivor and think Sigurd may be going down the wrong path. Fixed up my settlement for Yule with nice cloth hanging from trees and displays, cozy fire pits, it looks nice. Like the glowing runes, haven't found them yet. Nice armor on your Eivor too!

Your at power 400 I'm only at power 93- lol Yeah I think Dag is a bit envious. Not sure what I'll do when the time comes. Still on the way to help Sigurd but getting side tracked with exploring, raiding and upgrading the settlement. Which to choose to upgrade is not easy -

Yeah it was difficult to choose, the blacksmith, the assassins hut and Valka's are all important for the story but others were hard to decide except for the brewery of course that is a must have!!! Are you playing female or male Eivor? There are some good love interests for either male or female in terms of the Hunter (Petra) and the Baker (Torben SP?) if you didn't know already. Doing the main quests and the Mysteries you should "Power Up" pretty qeickly. Nice one I took yesterday

Did a quest to kill wolves with the tracker. Been roaming and came across a something odd at a bog in East Anglia. Searched around the site saw a figure long dead and a spirit wanted a battle. Lol power over 300, way over my power 93. Poor Eivor had to run away. !

Yeah the tracker, you have to another quest for her to find Wallace or whatever the guy that is in the hunting hut is and after that I think you get the option to romance her. That was a Daughter of Lerion/Larion that you ran away from and very wise, there are three of them and they are all a difficult fight. Are you playing on PC or Console? Either way get the "Stun" archery ability as soon as you can and to use it on PC draw your bow then hit "R" and it will fire a really powerful shot and do lots of damage. Great for Zealots and boss fights.

Medusa fight was hard in Odyssey, imagine this one will be just as hard. At Ringing Cyne Belle to help Geadric. Eivor was not happy with Sigurd who decided to go on his own quest. Eivor punched both Baslim and Sigurd . That will come back to him later. But something is not right. Going to meet Fulke and walked up a hill, the sun was low and shown through the woods, absolutely beautiful.

Yeah punching Basim will come back to bite you. Have you done Asgard yet, you should so it probably sooner rather than later it gives you some insight to a lot of things. The boss fight in that is pretty hard, I didn't find the sisters too hard and they are nowhere as bad as Medusa. Sunset on the last PC of map I hadn't travelled:

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing what will happen. Didn't like they way Sigurd abandoned the settlement and wouldn't talk to Eivor of his plans, just said trust me brother. Whoa did not expect Fulke's character to do that. She reminds me of Mila Jovovich in Joan of Arc The bakers quest to get the grain was sweet, and Eivor thought the bakers vow to not do violence noble, another good quest. There's so many of these gems in the game. off to Asgard !

I didn't see her movie of Joan of Arc is it good? Poor Sigurd he's such an ass and ...... You know you can talk to The Baker again and go fishing with him if you choose the heart icon option? I was very tempted to have my female Eivor romance him.

Yikes, tough fight, keep running out of arrows. Took me a long time to figure out how to battle him. Sometimes Eivor trusts too easily, he needs to watch the facial expression more closely - lol

I gotta ask: How much in the way of roleplay experience does this game provide. Like in player agency, methods of dealing with quests, and such?
I had heard that Odyssey really added more RPG elements to the series and I'm curious if Valhalla did the same.

Think I'm about just less than halfway through the story and it seems the same as Odyssey.
My Eivor has made a choice that think will come back to him later, got that feeling by watching the cut scenes and what the guys said. In that scene there were only 2 choices.

I gotta ask: How much in the way of roleplay experience does this game provide. Like in player agency, methods of dealing with quests, and such? I had heard that Odyssey really added more RPG elements to the series and I'm curious if Valhalla did the same. Odyssey made some baby steps towards player agency but there were maybe 5 or 6 choices you make that can influence the game and in Valhalla there are 5 choices that affect/effect the outcome. In regard to dealing with quests I'd say there are often dialogue choices but not many different methods of dealing with quests though ther is some choice in how you complete them or not completing them can influence the strength of your enemies. An example is you have to capture a castle and you can choose to sabotage the castles Ballista and burning oil cauldrons before storming the castle or you can not sabotage them. I sabotaged them so I assume that made taking the castle easier and less NPC deaths or maybe just less opposition guards. They have done away with side quests per se and introduced "Mystery's" which are short side quests localised to the Mystery's location in tat you solve it there and then or have to travel/search in an ares of around 200m for the most part. They are often a problem solving exercise as well as a do something part. For example you may go to a house and have a conversation with someone who say is old and senile IIRC and you can make a choice to pretend to be his daughter and do some things for him or tell him you aren't his daughter. Some are simply helping a guy trapped in a warehouse and you have to solve a move the barriers puzzle. Others can be more complicated. If you are looking for DA style choice in conversations and complexity of outcomes it is not there yet and romances are fairly limited. That said the story is better than Odyssey and different to Odyssey in it's premise. I loved Odyssey and I like Valhalla a lot mainly because I enjoyed the combat and environment better but the story is definitely stronger than Odyssey and the NPC's are better. I struggled to like it in the beginning because I like doing everything in one area and moving on but the game is structured for you to play the story, gather some wealth and armour and solve some mystery's as you go and the map is huge.

Capturing the castle was a lot of fun. Started all stealthy and destroyed 2 of those machines, then got caught, after that it was charge and storm!
Mysteries are so much fun. I love the mushroom puzzles. World events or side quests are interesting and some have humor like the cat lady, the man who ask you to throw crates off the list and the capture the hill guy . Still can't figure out how to help the naked man who was banished from his group. The good thing is you don't fail those quests you can keep going back to try again. Loving the male Eivor voice, mostly low and raspy sounding. Upped the graphics to get through Valka's quest (which was bugged for me) in England and Eivor's appearance smoothed out and he looks a bit better, interesting that.

The naked man quest is sort of bugged, I didn't want to help him for reasons I believe there is a note in the camp about him but the only way I could complete the quest was to do as he asks and steal the other supposedly naked peoples clothes. That however can be buggy and it took me three attempts at taking the clothes to him. There is a nudity setting in the settings so I am not sure why these people weren't nude and I don't believe there was one nudity scene at all in the game???? I am looking forward to playing male Eivor all game when I start a new PT but I am trying to wait till NG+ but not sure I am going to be able. This time around I let the animus decide so I get male Eivor in Asgard and in Jottenheim and female Eivor the rest of the time.

I'm not going to take their clothes, my Eivor doesn't care about the guy's beef with the group or the groups his. He did want to join the dance with the lady dazk, Eivors decision to punch Basim came back to him but think it was just the first payback. Was uneasy going into the quest but there was nothing to be done. Just kept saying Nooo don't do it Eivor!
Eivor said farewell to his friend, that was sad. But at least he is in Valhalla. Did more of those flying page mini games, super fun. In Cent came across some pictures in the grass and hill. Those were fun. And finally got to see the White Cliffs of Dover!
