I love the game, but ran across this. Fair critique of CD Projekt Red, in my opinion.

Those ocean waves, wild hunt armor, smoke, crowded Novigrad, just beautiful. I remember that whole downgrade fiasco and was irritated, although I do think some took their anger over the issue too far. I mainly think it was their constant brush under the rug/lies that irritated me the most, just say you downgraded. Is there a reason why they couldn't have a different version for PC and consoles? meh. Ugh and the failure that is modkit.... The witcher 3 is one of my favorite games, I still find it beautiful and the story amazing but I remember being a little salty about those issues.

TW2 pushed GPU's pretty hard when it was first released. The 360 version that came later was not near as pretty. I don't know about TW3. I've had TW3 in my library for a little over 2 years now and still haven't played it. Is that a damn shame or what? That's crazy. I'm gonna get to it one day though.

There's also a ton of mods out for the PC version - including texture mods.

Geralt. He has a mighty fine mohawk under that hood. Archespores are sure pretty but still my least favorite monsters in the game.

Faceman, Onecrazymonkey1, novatrex,@dustyelf, Been playing it for a couple of weeks now. The amount of content this game has is impressive. Gonna come back here and maybe discuss a few spoilers after I'm finished.

My favorite Geralt look, haircut-shades-wise.

Faceman That's my favorite armor but I always preferred the haircut with the shaved sides and little ponytail myself. I also loved the bear armor, always thought it looked sharp. novatrex Witcher 3 is easily one of the best games to date imo. Their side quests often feel more fleshed out then some of the main quests in other games, maybe you can even tell us where you are as you go along? I also could never understand the people that don't think there's depth to Geralt or that it's all about banging prostitutes and killing monsters. I can only guess they've never even played the game.

Just FYI that picture link seems to be broken, though I think I know about which haircut you're talking about. Which I would probably prefer to the long haired messy look that seems to be the "canon" look. Never really been a fan of long hair on guys, though.

That's really weird, I'd try fixing it but it shows up on my end. Anyway, I like short hair on guys but if long hair is kept nice I love it. I can't help it, my weakness. Annnd I just realized there were new and better emojis. LOL

They probably haven't. That's just optional stuff. He actually has an interesting history, or at least parts of it anyway. I just got to Kaer Morhen and I'm with Lambert right now. We just killed those foglets that were using an illusion. I figured it was probably some illusion like he said, but I wanted to go take a look more out of curiosity than anything. It's not like investigating and killing monsters isn't your trade anyway

This is another game I've been sitting on for a long time. I bought the complete edition on a Steam sale with all the DLC and everything but only got like an hour into it. I just can't get into Geralt. Not sure why, played and enjoyed lots of other games with the "macho" male protagonist but Geralt for whatever reason is just a complete bore to me. I did play TW2 and enjoyed it, but again wasn't thrilled with Geralt. Maybe they'll do TW4 and lets us play as Ciri!

If I just played the games I probably wouldn't care for him, but he won me over in the books.

Faceman, Onecrazymonkey1,@dustyelf, SundanceBeen enjoying TW3. I'll end up finishing this game with a ton of content never touched. That's ok though, save that for future playthroughs. I'm at Kaer Morhen getting ready to battle the Wild Hunt. Maybe the devs did it for technical reasons, but I think it would be better if not just the main actors showed up. There could have been more troops that came with Roche other than just Ves, more Skellige troops, etc. Geralt did a lot over the years for these people. Isn't it kinda odd that only the main actors show up by themselves? I just think it would be better on a little larger scale than that.

I thought he only asked his friends because the Wild Hunt were from another world and the common people (non-mage, non-witcher) wouldn't know how to fight them. And also there's not many humans who would be willing to help a witcher especially in a battle like that or in the case of Roche or Cerys to risk their men when they are needed elsewhere. I'm sure there's a better lore explanation out there.
Did you have time to explore the area around Kaer Morhen. One of the best moments was going to see the Kaer again and having Lambert and the guys there.

Technically they cover this by letting you ask the Emperor to send help - but if i recall correctly neither Geralt or the Emperor can agree on who's in charge of the troops.

The Emperor's condition for sending troops to Kaer Morhen is that Morvran Voorhis be in command.
