I think he's going to be in the game quite a bit Apparently the "Childhood Hero" choice from the CC was removed. Before you could choose between Johnny Silverhand, Saburo Arasaka, and Morgan Blackhand, and now Johnny Silverhand is baked into the cake so to speak. On some level I'm encouraged by their choice tbh. I like a lot of choice in RPG's normally, but I feel like this works the best with isometric CRPGs, titles like TW3 or CP2077 should take advantage on cinematic storytelling because obviously it's one of the strength of triple-A titles. Also, their big break was with TW3, a game with a relatively narrow narrative (you have a decent amount of choice, but this is still the story of Geralt the Witcher who's somewhat defined), so going with their strengths simply makes sense.

Yeah, I would prefer for CDPR to play up their strengths rather than flounder under the weight of too many choices. With Cinematic triple AAA RPG’s I prefer quality over quantity as it seems much more difficult due to cost (especially with voice acting) to add so many different variables. I'm always expecting more choice when a game is isometric and besides, they’re already going to have more on their plate just because of the male/female option alone. Actually I’m still a little amazed with how well they pulled the Witcher 3 off even with Geralt being such a well-defined character. Anyway good writing and a detailed lived in world are at the top of the list of what I care most about and CDPR hasn't let me down in that department yet. Also, this might be minor but I'm hoping when we do actually get to see our character in cutscenes that the male and female animations are slightly different. It doesn't have to be anything major, I just hated when Bioware would show us a full frontal shot of femshep sitting.....

Sometimes a wonky animation can really ruin your immersion for a scene. I mean, you remember the Krogan "fist-fight" from ME:A, right?... Damn, those Krogan had a lot of soy...

This article says CDPR didn't have a specialized combat team for The Witcher series which surprises me. They did an outstanding job with the combat, it's still my favorite combat to play. This article says they have a specialized team just for combat in Cyberpunk. Ah great things are to come. VG247-Cyberpunk combat designersAnd the mechanism is the same for calling your car in Cyberpunk as it is in The Witcher. Which is good, never saw Roach popping in and out of existence near Geralt but always walking to him from the bushes or from behind a building. But need to know: can I name the car Roach You can call your Cyberpunk vehicles like The Witcher 3's Roach

They clearly had combat designers, but maybe not a dedicated team. It's likely they were not specialized in combat design or they were doing double duty with it. I know that was the case in TW2 where story writers were also creating cutscenes etc. They were stretched super thin. Also, I'm pretty stoked about being able to summon my car like it's the goddamn Batmobile. Car customization is in as well.

I wonder if we'll see flying cars fully introduced as part of a future expansion. Probably not, but a man can dream, right?...

Would love to drive a flying car and zip around in the air as fast as possible. Would be fun to be able to free drive not in restricted lanes. Read an article that there would be many cars to choose from, wonder if that means the main character can steal cars. Only hope the lock picking will be an easy and fun mini game.

Main character can steal cars and drive over people a la GTA. So it seems they went the simple route on this and there will be a disconnect between us roleplaying and letting players cause a certain amount of mayhem when roaming the city. We'll also get our own parking garage to store vehicles. We will ride in flying cars but those will be during specific story segments. Minigames so far include racing, boxing and target shooting.

Oh that's interesting. Drive over people - uh oh. So the flying cars will be similar story segments as ME, that's ok those were fun. I guess its understandable to restrict the driving somewhat or the players would be all over the place and driving into buildings. Do you know if the mini-games are optional?

Some are there to balance a mechanic where you level up abilities through use, Oblivion style. So if you say just use melee for half the game and as a result you have high level melee, but now you want to switch to guns, under this system your gun skill would be way behind. So target shooting would be a way to level up your gun skill fast. They emphasized this was subject to change. I'm not sure it's a good idea to have Oblivion style leveling like this and a lot of folks on their website are against it. It was in GTA5 too and really wasn't a rewarding mechanic in that game.

So I just listened to a podcast with a dev: -FOV slider is in. -Body customization is being worked on and will most likely be in. -Exotics are very likely in. Exotics are people tricked out with animal parts...so furries. Not sure what to think of this.

Well yeah I 'm not sure either guess it depends on how they are interacting with the world, the quests and character.

It's the same crowd that keeps demanding "representation" I'm assuming. I don't really care for it, but I guess it's appropriate for the setting, so... *shrug* Good news about the FoV slider though.

Cyberpunk will have an in-game band - fantastic! Refused playing as Samurai. Sacred Gold 3 had a similar in-game band with Blind Guardian playing themselves and your character could do a quest to see them perform. It was a pretty fun quest. Hope Cyberpunk will do something similar. Sure you all have seen this by now but here's one of the songs: link
