Okay, I' ve been inspired to start a new DOSII game. Running as Fane, Summoner specialty, will probably take Geomancy as a secondary skill (undead like poison) Group: Sebille: Scoundrel (will probably take Necromancy as a secondary) Red Prince: Warfare (Pyromancy secondary) Ifan: Hydromancy (yeah, doesn't really fit into his background, but I needed a healer ) Right now still wandering around Fort Joy doing their personal quests and trying to get some levels. I think my companions are a bit too magic and rogue oriented. I'm a sword and shield cleric with necromancy and some light magic. No one to wield huge two handed weapons. Red Prince: mainly hydro and secondarily, pyro and necro Beast: two weapons, warfare and "monk" magic Lohse: Air magic and huntsman archery Probably should upgrade the low level Fane to wield big weapons. and I try to be smart!

I'd forgotten how frustrated DOS2 can be if you have cr*ppy gear. Took a LOT of tries to bring down the Fort Joy houndmaster.
Trying to hit level 5 before I leave. Not sure I'll make it.

Focusing more on Disco Elysium now.
Pumping Encyclopedia and Inland Empire with a really low Endurance. I'm like the love child of Sherlock Holmes and Fox Mulder with a heart condition...

RDR2 Shave & a haircut. Kinda-sorta doing legendary animals, but mostly...riding around looking for gang camps or for some fool to try and rob me. In other words I'm procrastinating.

Finished Disco Elysium. Weird game. But in a good way. I like how even the side missions can come into play y the end of the main storyline. I'm wondering how things might have gone differently with different builds and attitudes.

I've been playing a lot of Far Cry lately, 3 and 4. In 4 you can roam and do missions that aren't story missions in co-op. If there was a co-op campaign in it or do the main story together, that would be even better. FC3 does have a separate co-op campaign for 2-4 players, but we couldn't get it to work. Did a little searching online and it's an issue a lot of players have had apparently. Just got Primal and 5 and I'm gonna start playing 5. According to what I read, you and a friend can do all of the missions together in 5.

Trying to figure out what I want to play now. BattleTech? Pathfinder: Kingmaker? DAI? an old FF game? Alpha Protocol?

Went and bought Witcher 3 on Steam.
I'm not a big Witcher fan, but the entire game, plus all dlcs for $15 seemed a decent deal, given how much people rave about it. So...we'll see.

Have you played any of them? I like all of them and TW1 is a bit painful gameplay wise but it's still probably my favourite. TW2 for me is a bit all over the place but for the most part I like it and I like that you can choose what path you play story wise in the second act. Some of the maps though are a nightmare to navigate. TW3 is great but I have been put off playing again (after 3 PT's) as the map is huge and I cannot help myself but explore it all.

I played the first one, and part of the second. Never cared much for Geralt as a character. The guy seems to be kind of an *sshole who can't keep it in his pants. ANd the setting is kinda crapsack for me. Still, I'm willing to give it a chance.

I can see how Geralt can be taken like that but I just see him as someone who has done his best for others but has had nothing but crap happen to him pretty much all his life. There are some fantastic quests in TW3 especially where you really get to see how much Geralt cares for people depending of course on how you choose to play them out.

It's been a long time since I've played the first game. Mostly what I recall are improbably-endowed redheads throwing themselves at Geralt, and if you have him turn them down, he sounds kinda like a jerk, and if you did sleep with them, you got some kind of erotic playing card... I also remember though, that there were some actual consequences for choices made, sparing vs killing a character, who you sided with in a given conflict, etc. That part has me interested.

It's been a while since I played TW1, not that many well endowed red heads that I remember except Triss and Princess Adda. The casual romances are easily avoidable if you don't want to pursue them in TW1, I think its harder to not to commit to a romance with Sharni or Triss though. The playing cards are pretty tame IIRC. There quite a few choices that influence plot and whether people become enemies or allies or live or die.

Yeah, they're avoidable, but Geralt's responses when turning them down sounded rather cold and terse, like he's going "eww, no way!" or something. The cards just made me think the whole deal was kinda trivial, a game. Turning the whole "romance" angle into a sort of ccg-Pokemon game. "Gotta catch them all!" (good thing Witchers are sterile and immune to diseases, I guess!) I'd rather romances be more...romantic.

I found with most you had to make an effort to give the right replies for the casual hook ups or give them the right gift or complete a quest the right way, so you didn't even need to get into the whole rejection thing IIRC. Eh it was a minor thing I think but agree it could appear tacky and like a Pokémon Collect them all thing. The main point was that Geralt again I think because I haven't read all the books was that Witcher's have an overactive sex drive so it was probably just meant to be a bit of fun with that.

Honestly I think it's just as much the women as the Witchers; given the time there are probably no reliable contraceptives and STDs are likely rampant. Witchers are sterile and immune to disease...I think that's what makes them popular with the ladies.

So after four days of trying to get my memory to work, lots of internet research and maybe some ranting setting up mods and creating a character I at least don't mind I finally started a new PT of DAO. I last played it seriously in 2014 and made a start in 2016 but my head space wasn't right at the time and jumping back into it the gameplay and some glitches stopped me. So anyway yesterday my Rogue male Human Noble got himself to Ostagar and completed the Korcari wilds retrieving some Darkspawn Blood and some Grey Warden Archives amongst other things. Met Flemeth and Morrigan ( ) and today will complete the Grey Warden ritual. Met Duncan Met the lovely Iona Killed some Rats for Nan/Cook Good Dog/Poor Iona!!!! Said Goodbye to Dad and Mum
