To fully enjoy Heroes V (you can choose 2 upgrades for each unit, + 2 new factions) and its big collection of user made maps you need to get this: www.gog.com/game/heroes_of_might_and_magic_5_bundleHeores III is decent (more like older 2D version of Heroes V). But I began with Heroes IV and its campaign and maps are just great and gigantic. Its heroes are closer to the action-RPG Might & Magic games (9-10 ones of them). It's an innovative game that ol' fans don't like but its new addition are actually pretty cool. One of the prettiest 2D strategy games tbh (alongside AOE II and American Conquest) www.gog.com/game/heroes_of_might_and_magic_4_completeHeroes II looks better than III imo but has gameplay bad rules issues that dumbs down the game. I is too archaic, VI is garbage, VII is meh/playable, only graphics are great. Indeed action-RPG Might & Magic 6-8 are pretty good too. I recommend the 6th or the 7th game to learn more about this universe. www.gog.com/game/might_and_magic_7_for_blood_and_honorInteresting. DO these games still run okay on modern systems, given how old they are?

It's been a long time since playing my CD version of Heroes IV but the GOG versions work very well. I knew those 90s M&M games had issues with modern Windows (7) but GOG fixed them as well.

Finally finished the Portugal Empire! FeelsGoodMan! I couldn't stand more atomic bombs... AAAAAAAAAA! Specially since Kamehameha and Rameses are allies. So went after the weakling city states that were still at war with me! 17 out of 22 capitals controlled, my best result of the decade so far! Well I usually lose interest in world domination and go "pacifist" after turn 480!

Last night I discovered I can increase or slow down the passage of time on Stellaris.
The game just got a LOT more interesting since I no longer have to deal with the plodding pace of stuff getting built and researched.
Also got into a scrap with some bird-people when an alien artifact I found opened up, released a swarm of nanobots that terraformed a world to be Gaia-conditioned for my people (The Empire of Sol) Problem is the world was in their territory.
So I claim it. They don't have a world there, just an outpost. And it's on my border. They refuse, so I declare war, move in and capture it. Then I captured three more systems on our border before they finally give in. No other worlds, but more "breathing room" and a route to another civilization I'm on more peaceful terms with.
I have noticed a lot of other civs are now making treaties and alliances with each other. Wonder if I started something. Maybe I should build some cruisers...

So played Crysis after finishing everything I could in ACOD and am now playing Crysis 2. So yesterday continued my Crysis journey and started Crysis 2. Man I can't believe how much I have forgotten of this game, found myself falling into traps with regards to enemies and maps and then going Oh that's right!!!! So anyway that meant a lot of combat rather than the stealth approach I usually try which was fun anyway. Game doesn't seem to be dropping Sniper Rifles which I really could have used on a couple of occasions already but did have some fun throwing grenades and blowing up fuel containers to take out enemies. Also had fun "power kicking" cars off car park rooves on to enemies!!!!! So game starts in a submarine with a squad of Force Recon Commandos/Marines (?) going to extract a Dr. Nathan Gould from NY, he's a friend of Prophets (the squad commander from Crysis 1) and who is an expert on the aliens. Anyway things go pear shaped and the submarine gets attacked in NY Harbour and a lone Commando/Marine "Alcatraz" is rescued by Prophet. Prophet has discovered that the Nano-Suit is actually "symbiotic" and is slowly melding with his body and so he removes it and puts it on Alcatraz (who is pretty much dead) and tells him to go find Gould. Then Prophet shoots himself to stop the "infection. NY is over run by the aliens who have introduced a biological agent that causes humans to basically rot and die. An organisation called CELL is policing the city and trying to cure and cull the infected with a primary goal to eliminate Prophet as they are basically trying to eliminate the Nano-Suits. So got through the first three areas (damn checkpoint games) without too much trouble and up to the point of helping Gould by obtaining a DNA sample of the aliens to try and create a cure. Got my first speeding fine for running through a traffic camera too fast picked up some collectible souvenirs and found my first set of collectible car keys. Pic's Uh oh sub going down When Aliens attack and Prophet to the rescue Prophet shoots himself Hello NY All the vending machines, cash machines, radios, computers etc all work in the game its kinda cool. Alcatraz withdraws some cash: Dead CELL troops Dead Alien Souvenir Collectible

So continued Crysis 2 yesterday and had a couple of fun maps to get through and a bit more story progress. Alcatraz continued to try and find his way the Dr. Gould who has become a bit of a moving target. So started up after gathering the Alien DNA which enabled some suit enhancements, the most annoying thing is when I play this game again is I can log into my profile and it remembers all the achievements and progress I have made but it looks like Crytek have taken down the profile site. That means I have to go through the gathering process of alien DNA to enhance the suit when my suit should already be fully enhanced which is a bit annoying. Anyway did my first suit enhancement that helps track the aliens and then moved on and witnessed a cut scene where Cmd. Lockhart and Tara Strickland are fighting about Prophet being killed, Lockhart is pro it and Strickland isn't as her boss Hargreaves who designed the suit wants Prophet alive. Anyway Lockhart orders CELL to kill on sight which leads to Alcatraz/Prophet having to fight through some checkpoints on the FDR and then steal a mini-tank and take on some vehicles and some tanks. Then, Alcatraz has to get to Gould's apartment to destroy his computer which involves a fight on a pier and a few buildings and then a pretty full-on fight in the apartment that includes taking out a helicopter and guys repelling into the building. That done Alcatraz heads off to Gould's apartment where he gives a lesson on the fact that basically the liens are Cephalopods/Squids and then when scanning the suit realises its not Prophet in the suit. Gould needs to access a better suit scanner to figure out what is going on with the suit as ther DNA Alcatraz has incorporated is doing something. At this pint CELL storm the apartment and Alcatraz and Gould go their separate ways to a place that has a better scanner after Alcatraz kills more CELL troops. Pics Lockhart and Strickland arguing Fun in the Tank and Dead CELL guys!!! The Pier is quite fun, lots of random fuel drums just lying around allows for some multiple kills Gould realises Prophet isn't the body in the suit and the Biology Lesson

The only one in the Crysis series that I've played is the first one. I'm not into fast-paced shooters, but it had enough free roam that I was able to enjoy it. I recall at the very end when you're on that ship that the strain that it put on my hardware was such that I barely had enough frames to play and finish it. It's been a while since I played. I've had a couple GPU upgrades since then and could probably handle it better. Crysis was demanding and pretty for it's time, granted, but I don't think it was very well optimized.

Oh man Crysis 1 is a beast of a game in terms of belting your hardware, I saw a review from 2016 where someone was saying back then that they still couldn't play it on highest settings with a top of the line PC!!!! I only got a new PC a year ago and it has a 1070Ti and good chips etc and it is just good enough to run Crysis 1 on mostly the highest settings!!!! Yeah the final battle on the carrier is insane, I have played the game 3 or 4 times previously and TBH I skipped it the last few times because the game would just crap itself or glitch at that point. Had a few hiccups this time but nothing major. Crysis 2 and 3 are more linear but I don't mind that and I like the simplicity of just playing the campaign without making choices and utilising whatever weapons are at hand. Some people hated the games but I actually like the story and enjoy the gameplay.

So Crysis 2, haven't played for the last few days have been having fun having RL adventures involving visiting many Hotels and drinking too much with a friend. Anyway so last session Alcatraz was making his way to a facility do to a deep layer scan on his suit. So he fought his way there killing Cell soldiers and Aliens galore and then entered the facility with Gould. It was of course a trap and during the scan Lockhart and Strickland turn up and Alcatraz and Gould are taken prisoner. Alcatraz gets his suit shut down and loaded on to a chopper but as its taking off a big metal tube used to spread the spore burst up through the road and causes the chopper to crash. Anyway the suit incorporates more of the "spore" that the aliens use to kill people and Alcatraz found himself unconscious and then had to manually restart his heart using damn stupid QTE's, they are especially annoying as they are just there for the sake of it and serve no purpose whatsoever. Anyway when he got his heart started again, he then gets video messaged by Joseph Hargreaves one of the suits designers and told basically he had to go get an upgrade for the suit to help him shut down the alien spore generating machines from Hargreaves companies offices in NY. Pic's Getting Scanned and captured Capture goes wrong and Alien Spore machine Hargreaves and Stealth killing an alien

Me and two crew mates essentially went skeet shooting with Oppressor MKII trolls in GTA online. It then evolved into Watchers On The Wall because we held a fortified area (the mid level of the construction site in downtown LS) with proximity mines and well placed shotgun shells once they finally figured out where we were. One of us even got a kill with an airstrike when a broomstick landed on the roof. When they got really pissed off, two of them went into a Facility and launched failed Orbital Strikes on us and finally the other one decided to come out of the closet with his mod menu. Unfortunately, he couldn't kill us as we went into our Crew leader's office and went passive. Modder boi is likely to get banned because we record and report them directly to Rockstar. Got 13 cheaters banned so far between the the three of us.

So short burst of Crysis 2 play yesterday. Basically fought my way through three different maps of aliens, one on a highway I always find hard and then sabotaged spore conduits to and cause it to eventually explode. Then jumped into a main spore tube and the nano-suit did a whole lot of analysis and recalibrating and then Alcatraz got shot out of it then hen had to run to avoid a dam being opened to flood the city and didn't make it. Delta team headed by Chino who was on the sub at the beginning were looking for Alcatraz after the flood and then they all had to fight there way to a building. Alcatraz left them there to scout ahead and there is a really difficult fight a long a flooded freeway and then along a road to an area where Alcatrazmeets up with more marines to be extracted. Pic's In the spore tube as the suit does its magic and getting shot out After going for a swim

God, Crysis was such a revolutionary game graphically and its still looking good. Was fortunate enough to get a new PC a year ago but Crysis 1 is still such a beast of a game I still couldn't run it on max settings!!!! Crysis 2 must be better optimised as I am able to max it out but yeah the graphics are really good and I like the NY setting!!!

played some long multiplayer stuff with my cousin again. Civilization V, FIFA 17 & 19, Tekken 7 and now recently Micro Machines V4 added to it. {https://i.imgur.com/AXqOMrX.png} Shamefur dispray! Also found my old GTA1 CD, the version that can actually run on Win 7. Plus it has Dos mode too that can be run on DosBox. The first city is nice, but I love the 2nd. The 3rd is too crazy! And had some Heroes V Necropolis campaign advancement too, but not enough to make screenies. OK this is where I'm stuck! Until raising enough army to beat these Titans.

So finally got to play some Crysis 2 yesterday, got a fair bit done. Went to a building to get an upgrade and got ambushed by CELL troops and Ceph, went for a swim when the glass windows holding back some water cracked and linked up with Delta team and Chino again. Lockhart losing the plot and the windows about to be shattered Blew up a building ad was about to be killed but was saved by a train killing the alien about to kill me!!!! Building exploding, Alien, Train Then met up with Gould and General Barclay and fought a couple of the hardest fights, one in Grand Central to cover an evacuation and one at night on a street block to hold back a a wave of Ceph and both included Pingers, they are tough to fight. Another spore spear, this time the nano-suit reprograms it to kill the aliens Then off to a couple of my favourite maps, Rooseveldt Island and The Prism but it requires Alcatraz jumping out the back of a plane!!!!
