And a K-drama with Hyun Bin: Want to watch Star Trek Picard but have not watched any of the last 4 or 5 series, will that matter? Are there any of the movies I should watch re-watch, I haven't watched anything Star Trek for a very long time.

It seems I've missed some important story points but so far they have done a great writing job so I'm not lost and can easily pickup what has happened in the past. There's a lot of humor in the series so far and the cast is terrific.

You saw through me, that's why I wanted to know her character name as I wanted to find out who the actress was. And yes she is cute and looks familiar.

Don't know the actor, check IMDB and watched a clip from one of his movies. He has a good voice and face for Vesemir.

Edit, and then later when he was recovering at home:
And then later on in the episode "I, Borg" when he met Hugh

Whoa, I missed those episodes. Thanks for the clips! Now I understand who Hugh is, a bit of his relationship with Hugh and why Hugh asked Picard to help the former Borgs. Picard being a Borg for a time would make him more sympathetic to AI's, which plays into the new series, interesting and so well done.

The movie Star Trek: First Contact delves into is as well. It introduces the Borg Queen and her and the collective's relations with Picard going back to The Best of Both Worlds TNG episodes.

I finished up Altered Carbon season 2. It's nothing like the first. The tone, the cast the writing, the choreography, and the nudity has changed. I didn't really care much for the gratuitous nudity but then they add Simone Missick to the cast and I'm missing it. It's enjoyable but not nearly as engaging as the previous season. Mackie does a good job as the new Kovacs sleeve and acts in a way that is consistent with Kinnamon's performance albeit with less of a cynical outlook. It's more of a science fiction show as opposed to the cyberpunk noire tone it had before. Poe is still as entertaining as ever and the plot delves into the settling of Harlan's World in which Takeshi runs into some familiar stacks and faces. Overall the ending to the season sets up a fresh new slate for the next one.

Who's been tuning into Better Call Saul? The acting has always been superb but Rhea Seahorn's been stealing the show with her dramatic work. Things are in a very interesting place with Lalo and Jimmy finally being Saul. Still about 4 years off from the Breaking Bad timeline but we're getting there.

I don't think I've seen the most recent episode, but yeah I've been watching it. I think Better Call Saul is actually better than Breaking Bad

Giving The Witcher another try.
Now that I know about the storylines taking place in two (or sometimes three) time periods, and having played Witcher 3 so I have at least a passing knowledge of some of the characters, I'm able to follow it better.
But this season definitely isn't very accessible to people who weren't already fans of the series.

So watched Lost in Space Season 1, if it weren't for the robot and my kids wanting to keep watching I would have stopped after the 3rd episode. The actors are terrible, Dr. Smiths character is just dreadful and sorry not being sexist but having grown up watching the original the sex change and personality change was hard for me to look past. The changes to Don's character making him into a stereotyped "lovable rascal" rather than the flawed but eminently capable and serious 2IC also didn't work.
That said I am glad I stuck with it, the last 3 episodes redeemed it to the point that I am now looking forward to watching it, just have to decide whether to wait till it is on DVD or just reactivate my Netflix subscription.
Would I recommend it???????? Not sure but if you are desperate for some VERY LIGHT SciFi give it a go.

Trish as a black woman in the Witchers.. I didn't even regonize her, thought she was ginger! Insults me, in rl i have aburn hair whilest my ma has ginger hair and blue eyes. Why are gingers in Hollywood so poorly treated? We be only 2% of the population afterall!

Why are gingers in Hollywood so poorly treated? We be only 2% of the population afterall! Of all the characters to change to meet a quota they choose Triss!!!!!!! So many others it wouldn't have made a difference but the iconic red head gets changed, really not impressed and not to mention Triss is meant to be very young and she isn't portrayed that way either.
