So apparently this was a thing and no one told me.
Pretty anxious to see what this is. Announcement tonight on twitch.

Better not be another FPV only game.

Confirmed FPV only. At least I only heard about this coming yesterday and only had 24 hours of hopes dashed instead of 6 years worth with CP2077. /sigh

On the upside, the ambiance looks amazing. I got exactly the right amount of chills from this trailer.

Might need to dust off my copy of the original and play it again. IF it will still run...

I suppose going completely FPP without giving the option of TPP is cheaper to make. I can play FPP just fine but my personal preference is TPP as I enjoy seeing the characters I play. Even still, the first one was amazing so I'm still excited about this.
But I'm sorry your hopes got dashed decaf.

After reading what the devs have said their goals are and researching who is making this game, I'm finding it likely won't be the game for me. It seems like it will be blatantly progressive and political. Maybe the first one was as well but these days I'm seeing too much of that stuff in our media. Shame because I like the concept.

We'll join a scrappy resistance group who don skinny jeans and sip lattes to fight the orange overlord vampire in his giant tower.

Yeah, I've read a rather concerning interview the devs of this game did. Seems like it's going to be a heavily "progressive" game. I'll still keep an eye out because other than that it looks good, but I'm not going to buy until I know for sure if this is "progressive political masturbation - the vidya game".

Contemporary politics are ubiquitous as it is. I've got no interest in playing a video game where the authors are pushing their personal political agendas.

www.vg247.com/2019/03/21/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-political-character-creator/I don't particularly care if there's politics that I personally disagree with in a game I want to play, it's all on how it's handled. What I don't want are developers deciding what the morally correct path is and preaching at me. Unfortunately I do have a bad feeling that they'll be beating their own brand of politics into the players heads instead of letting them decide for themselves, especially with lines like this "It’s definitely taking political stances on what we think are right and wrong” so I guess I'll wait for reviews to see what comes of this, shame. EDIT: Also I did some digging and I believe this is an excerpt from the 5th edition of the book Vampire: The Masquerade......

"That said, Kindred culture is inherently monstrous. Part of the political horror of Vampire: The Masquerade is surviving in a culture that worships the Bad Old Ways."
Well, I'm sure the Commies and Marxists fit right in then. Whatever they call themselves, Communist, Marxist, Progressive, Post-Modernist, they all sprang from the same source. Which quite frankly "the bad old ways" is a fairly good description of. If you catch my meaning.

Ugh...
I wish I was going to be the bearer of good news, but the signs so far are rather worrying.

... EDIT: Also I did some digging and I believe this is an excerpt from the 5th edition of the book Vampire: The Masquerade... ... Heh, yeah, trust me some players of the Tabletop game are VERY uhappy about the direction their last book has taken. Personally I play a different "section" of the "World of Darkness" (Mage: The Awakening), but people on the same Discord server play Vampire (both "Requiem" and "Masquerade"). This is just the last instance of political screeching in a fairly long series of... "incidents".

So much talk of neo-Nazis and fascists.
You'd think vampires didn't exist before the 20th century...

Just how progressive (or regressive) was the first game? Some people are claiming it was also very political, but as has been pointed out it's really about how it's handled and the choices you get. I haven't heard anything about the first game being ham-fisted with this. Really bummed because the thought of a modern vampire RPG is something I've wanted for ages.
And that text monkey posted...yeesh. Pure cringe.

And that text monkey posted...yeesh. Pure cringe. There was dialog referring to President Bush. It was a stab at him, but can't remember the details. It seems like I remember there was dialog with a NPC who used a SJW buzzword or two. I picked up on it a couple of times in the game, but most of the politics were coherent within the story. It's been a while since I played it.
