Big fan of the Special Edition of Skyrim, mainly because it actually uses my 1070 instead of ignoring a good chunk of what it can do. Have had a lot of fun modding it, will post mod stuff here - along with other Skyrim-related topics.

I want to use the special addition skyrim, I really do. However I have some 500 + mods in oldrim and unfortunately I've been too lazy to make the move (it's an addiction).

Tell me about it, I'm pretty sure I've spent more time applying mods to Skyrim than playing it. The guys that make skse finally got a beta out for Skyrim SE, and the guys/gals who made mods for oldrim have ported a lot of SE editions so now may be the time to start afresh with SE... depending on where you're at with oldrim I suppose.

I'm taking another 'game-cation' to Skyrim, something I do every now and again. The game's almost magical ability to draw you in and keep you locked in for hours at a time is just bliss. Here are some views from my modestly modded run on Xbox: And the one that is my new wallpaper:

I love this mod and it's also one of my favorites, good taste. Maybe I'm a bit strange but I also really enjoy frostfall, nothing like nearly freezing to death to really raise the spirits! www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11163

Faceman, Onecrazymonkey1, Iakus, So what do you folks think of Steam Workshop? It sounds like a really nice addon if it's set up correctly, but I haven't used it enough to have an opinion yet. I've got Skyrim LE 32 bit because it has a big list of mods and Workshop, but the SE 64 bit may pass it up if it hasn't already. The SE doesn't come with Steam Workshop, but that's not necessarily a big deal.

novatrex I only use Nexus for mods. I'm not sure why but I think it's because I'm set in my ways and tend to get comfortable in one place, so much so that it's hard to teach me new tricks. From what I've heard from someone else, you have a better ability to organize all of your mods from Nexus giving you more control. With steam your game might explode and you'll have a harder time figuring out which mod was the culprit. I don't know how true that is because I've never tried workshop and since I have over 500+ mods installed in my skyrim with everything running flawlessly.... I'm not so adventurous that I want to find out.

I guess the workshop simply can't hold mods as big as Interesting NPCs or the city overhaul mods. But I do like the ones like the mod that makes unread books glow or the ability to craft crossbows anywhere.

Something tells me that it's probably not as sophisticated as it needs to be.

I stopped allowing Skyrim to update at all. Be careful about that. I've found Steam updates itself and changes the switches and options for doing that. Fuck, Origin does the same damn thing. I really like the convenience of these platforms but I hate their insistence on updating stuff when I don't want it updated.

Oh you should definitely do it if you can, I was just saying to be aware they try and make it difficult.
