I've been playing BG2EE, doing a sorcerer run. Not something I normally do. Usually I'm something a bit more...stabby.
Kinda fun to be the spell-flinger myself, though

I never have played the BG games. I played Planescape Torment years ago, but didn't finish it. I got tired of the crashes. I do have the EE and might try it again. It's got an awful lot of text though. I've got Icewind Dale EE and want to give it a try. I hear it's more combat/action focused. Iakus,@dustyelf, which old Infinity Engine games have you two played?

Iakus ,@dustyelf , which old Infinity Engine games have you two played? Baldur's Gate Baldur's Gate 2 Planescape: Torment Icewind Dale. So basically all of them but Icewind Dale 2. Yeah, Icewind Dale is more combat focused than story, which is why I played it with the Icewind Dale NPCs mod for story and banter www.pocketplane.net/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=174&Itemid=122Edit: also played a bunch of the "rpg renaissance" IE-like games: Pillars of Eternity I & 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2, Wasteland 2, the Shadowrun Returns series, etc.

I'm currently playing the EE version of BG1. It's been so long since I've played that game it's like a fresh experience. I've played BG2 to death. Still love it. I played Icewind Dale, but it crashed on me so much I don't remember finishing it. Got the EE version of Torment (I played the original) and went through it, love that game.
I usually play a multi-class with the BG games, fighter/mage/thief.

I wish I had been gaming more back when these Infinity engine games were released and played them then. I think I would have more appreciation for them now, for nostalgia if nothing else.

Second time playing Baldurs Gate, this time on the Enhance Edition.I forgot so much since the first time but it's still pretty fun. The team is at Baldurs Gate and trying to get into the warehouse, need a book to get back into Candlekeep but can't find a seller, lost Minsc somewhere, Edwin up and left in a huff. Got lost in Cloakwood, lots of people wanted to tag along, my main character said no, she likes her team. 3 of my teammates are new with the enhance, Neera is cute as a button.

I like using the mod that lets you park unused allies at the Friendly Arm Inn. I didn't like Neera at first, but she kinda grew on me.

Poor Minsc left out there somewhere. Yeah, Neera is so upbeat even when she gets caught stealing, had to help her out.

Being able to park companions at a specific location (Friendly Arm Inn for most of them) is a MINOR perk, It adds tons of banter, romances for several characters, AND it's compatible with EE.
