Tali and Jacob too boring to use and Liara too creepy. As for kaiden, I usually killed him off in most of my games because while he's cute, his personality is meh.
This Shepard keeps so many male squadmates skeletons in her closet! More likely they're tossed into space!

Oh, we're talking favorite squad mates? Kaidan and Jack.

I've always had my favorites that I just always use: Garrus, Liara, Wrex, Grunt, Legion on occasion, Zaeed. Most others I don't use unless I have to or to throw them in on a relevant mission (Tali on Geth related stuff for example). That joke in the Citadel DLC about the squadmates who never get picked is most applicable to me

My favorites were always Wrex, Grunt and Ash as the unstoppable powerhouses with Thane and legion as my top snipers. I also have to link my personal bias of their personalities with their combat, because if I don't like a character I'll use them as little as possible. However from what I remember they did seem to have the most survivability in my games and always helped me out of tight spots.
As for my sheps? I loved playing a Vanguard god that would shotgun people to the face, It suited me because I'm an impatient person. I guess that's why I love the krogan so much, that and they're adorable. Mordin personalty wise was another favorite of mine but he always died on me....or maybe I just sucked idk. Miranda, zaeed, Samara, jack and Garrus were cool but not my favorites, Tali and Jacob too boring to use and Liara too creepy. As for kaiden, I usually killed him off in most of my games because while he's cute, his personality is meh. Liara too creepy? Now I'm curious... how is she too creepy?

I've heard a couple of others call Liara creepy too.
Did anyone find it odd that we got Cerberus armor in the Citadel DLC? Why are we getting armor with the Cerberus logo and colors instead of Alliance logo and colors? It seems they weren't thinking when they did that.

I find that Liara is actually ok and her personality can be cute if you're friends with her and honestly I wasn't actually creeped by her. That's just me trying to be funny and being irritated that she felt like bioware's pet.
It was just the ninjamance I always had to deal with. At first I thought it was because I was being nice to her, but even when I acted like a total jerk in my later games she was still in love with me. Then there were the games I completely ignored her and she still tells me in ME2 something like "I couldn't let you go" :/. Her fixation with my jerk sheps and holding onto my armor seemed unhealthy etc. Since I romanced Thane the lizard frog man, I was pretty irritated in ME3 that they forgot about him and once again made it like Liara was the most important person in my sheps life. Liara was even the last person that flashed before my sheps eyes at death. Anyway, I've never had that particular issue in any other bioware game, I didn't even get the famous Leliana ninjamance.
I do believe you can avoid rescuing her in ME1, although I never tried it since not getting all of the companions would bother me.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, when she became the shadow broker and started watching everyone? *yikes*. Because of bugs even after telling her I wasn't interested, I would still end up with her picture on my desk in ME2 and her bringing up my romance with someone else.

One of the criticisms I have of Bioware in the ME series, and probably all of their games just about, are decisions, consequences, and morality. You're given choices and you learn that if you choose the paragon choice then the consequences are going to end up good. You learn that if you pick what may seem to be the realistic or pragmatic choice, which can often be the renegade choice, it's usually not going to work out for the best. It either works out like a fairy tale or you're a mass murderer, lol. There's no point in making those other choices unless you want to be evil.
With no negative consequences for choosing the paragon choice, and no reward for choosing anything other than paragon, it's predictable. There's probably a couple of exceptions to that, but not many. I think it's more interesting that you're not guaranteed the best outcome for making the paragon choice.
Also, if you want to use your influence to get a better outcome, especially in ME2, then you need to be making either primarily paragon choices or primarily renegade choices throughout the game and gain as many points as you can in one or the other. Otherwise you're going to have a hard time keeping some of your squadmates loyal.
What I ended up doing in ME1 and ME2 was to add paragon/renegade points through the console or save editor. Then I'd play through the games with a mixture of choices and not worry about how many points I had. It wasn't really a problem in ME3.

I agree Nova, everything went too peachy for a paragon. There were plenty of decisions that I wanted to backfire if I wasn't being practical, mainly with the rachni where I spared them. It also brings me back to DA Origins in that everything could turn out peachy for connor if you went to the mages tower. In reality there should've been a time limit for a complete failure in that scenario.
Then in ME3 everything you did no matter what all went to shit in the end. I have no idea why I wasted time collecting all those war assets. >.<

If you're playing on PC, there's a mod that fixes the Liara (and other) romance bugs, I think. Though I wasn't aware of the ninja mance in ME2... yikes. Though I'm' painfully aware of the ninja mance in ME1 - for both Liara *and* Ash... man I had those two fighting over me and I didn't even know why, lol.

Thanks faceman! Yeah I didn't originally play the trilogy on PC, so I couldn't fix it. I do have it on PC now though so thanks for the mod mention. I'll give the fixes a look.

Faceman I use the console too, but instead of typing out cheats, I have them in a text file and execute the text file, that's either keybound or I type the file name in the console. I'll do that with a new Shepard adding stuff to the inventory, plus I have other cheats listed in the file. Did you know that you can add specializations through the console? If you have an engineer for example, you can specialize as both a medic and an operative if you want to. I don't give myself the super weapons/armor, but I do give myself equipment that can only be attained through the console, like Cerberus Freedom armor and Harpoon rounds. Omni-tools don't transfer to new game +, so I have a text file with omni-tools that's keybound. There's a few other cheats that I have hotkeyed too, like talent points. I max out the squad's talent points. You mentioned the slow elevator rides. There's a command that you can keybind that speeds up the game so the elevator rides only last a second or two. Most cutscenes can be skipped with an ini edit as well. Yeah, I've used the text files too, on ME1 and on Skyrim. I've also consoled in the specializations, talent points, and even weapon capabilities. I don't usually max out the squad's talent points, but that's because it's not necessary. First, I have the QA Gun and that kills just about everything (even my Mako if I accidentally hit it lol) with one shot. Next, the squaddies are wrapped in high end armor that keeps their poor AI from killing them. But I can understand the appeal to maxing out their abilities as well. For the elevator rides speed, there's also mods - if you want to skip the console and they're even designed so that they're long enough you can hear some elevator banter if you so desire. For ME1, there's also a texture mod that gets rid of most of the awful textures that were designed for the Xbox 360 and never upgraded for the PC version of ME1 (thank you, lazy Bioware). For all three ME games there's these guys who've been working on "A Lot of Mods" and it basically brings together texture mods from a lot of different authors, makes sure they make a compatible look and feel, and installs the textures fairly quickly. Although, when I say fairly quickly... installing texture mods on any Mass Effect game is a slow process. The first tool I used to install texture mods on ME1 was MEU MEUITM (Mass Effect Updated/Improved Textures Mod) by CDAMJC - he had his own texture mod installer, but that's switched over to the mod application process used by the ALOT guys, so not it's a bit faster. For the other two games I first used ME3Explorer - and that tool is still great for most mods. But it (in my experience) gets wiggy when applying texture mods and it takes hours. So last thing I used was the ALOT guys mod process - though I'd use some of my own textures instead of just the ones that come with the ALOT package. A Lot Of Textures (ALOT) for ME2A Lot Of Textures (ALOT) for ME3I decided to give MEUITM a try again. It's much improved since the last time I tried it. I installed it choosing options with the original look and limited the textures to 2k, which are fine with 1080p. Performance is good. Some of the floor/ground textures have been redone too. I hope the author(s) keep it going. (y)

The new installer stuff seems to have breathed some new life into his work.

I wish I'd gotten more screenshots of MEA and uploaded them online when I still cared enough to playthrough it. Who knows, I'll likely get back into it this holiday season. Something about the snow outside makes Veold so much more enjoyable to traverse.
Favorite characters: Garrus, Mordin, Thane, Wrex, Javik, Jack, TIM, Kai Leng (when written by Karpyshyn).
I don't hate MEA, I just find it underwhelming and a failure to live up to its potential. Even worse was that most of the squad was one dimensional, though entertaining. Needed some real alphas like the Normandy crew had in the likes of Garrus, Wrex, Miranda, Thane, and Samara to name a few. ME3's RGB (I'll never call that ish an ending) was a massive fuckup but not so much that it couldn't recover from. After all this time I stopped hating it as much but do dislike it on principle in that it undoes 4.75 games and 3 novels worth of story and lore while also sidestepping a story/plotline that wrote itself in a massive galactic war for survival. It biggest failure was Priority Earth after Bioware came roaring out the gate with things like Virmire and Suicide Mission in which you personally direct things and dictate the success of the mission.

Hate this bitch Some of the most worthless sentients in the entire galaxy The dead, per the beginning of ME3 (minus Zaeed, who is also dead)

Imported Janey from ME but reworked her face a bit, she's pretty and get a kick out of the faces she makes sometimes. She is mostly renegade but sometimes my shepards can't do it. As in Overlord, always give David to Grissom. I think one of the saddest stories in ME. The team, Miranda, Jacob and Shep have landed on the Citadel, spoke with and advertisement and will visit Anderson, get a bottle for Dr Chakwas, some exotic food for the cook and help an Quarian. Janey is serious most of the time: Except when she makes a funny face: Talking to a beautiful advertisement. Can everyone see Kasumi or only Shep:

Been playing a little ME2 lately trying out a weapon pack mod. www.nexusmods.com/masseffect2/mods/202Most of the weapons are from ME3. Though I like ME2, I think they screwed up the story in a bunch of ways.

So what are your favored classes in the series?
ME1 - Engineer, Sentinel, and Vanguard. Infiltrator seemed mostly useless to me in ME1. Sniping was pretty clunky and that class has no crowd control talents. Engineer at least has AI hacking, Neural Shock, and cooldowns are shorter. Adept was alright, but it's overpowered with singularity. I like casting, so Soldier was a bit too boring for my taste.
ME2 - Engineer, Sentinel, and Infiltrator. They made Infiltrator a lot more useful. I tried Vanguard but don't care for it much. Charging all the time doesn't really suit my play style, and without charging I don't find the rest of the talent set very useful.
ME3 - Same classes as ME2. I like Infiltrator even more in the 3rd game. Tech combos were a nice addition, and the Engineer class is more powerful.
Overall Engineer is my favorite throughout the whole series.

So what are your favored classes in the series? Adept in all 3. The powers were super fun, throw, lift, get caught in singularity and twirl around. Vanguard in 2 and 3. Loved the charge and Nova skill. Added skills: carnage and slam.
