I can never figure out where to put stuff so I make new threads.
Over the past year and a half I've become increasingly disenchanted with social media. FB went first in January 2018. Just deleted Twitter the other day. Giving Parler a shot but most of my followers are Christian conservatives which, frankly, bores the hell out of me. I want to see some discourse rather than another echo chamber.
Any other platforms people are using that seem interesting?

These are free speech alternatives that I'm aware of right now: home.parler.com/www.minds.com/ - I think it's like a FB alternative. www.ts.today/ - Not sure how this one is set up. gab.com/ - Twitter alternative. dissenter.com/ - Post comments about URL's - videos, news stories, etc. Gab is the only one I've used so far. I haven't used it much. I recently logged in there after a spell of being away and noticed more varied folks from different ends of the political spectrum than I had before. I've only checked out dissenter once. You can share it with a Gab account logging in at the site or use a browser extension. They even have a custom browser you can use.

Minds is like Facebook+Twitter with a little Dailymotion. Gab is pretty much redpill twitter.
I don't use Minds as much but Gab has a mostly nice community. Problem is, the nonpolitical people I follow on twitter aren't really embracing the alternatives because they just aren't mainstream yet and the fighting game community is mostly apolitical.

I think I might have set something up with Minds because of Tim Pool but I can't swear to it. I've heard there are some sketchy aspects to Gab to the point that Mastodon users have blocked it since there's some connection between the two services. Have to look into TS and Dissenter.
Thanks for the suggestions. I would like more gaming stuff and have found little to no sign of it on Parler. Trying to post stuff there that isn't entirely political in nature.

I use Facebook primarily for two reasons: To keep in contact with family (though I found myself unfollowing a couple of them due to constant unhinged political ranting) and because I'm a member of several D&D groups whom I get advice for running adventures.
I'm also on Twitter, though mainly to lurk. You know to get a quick run-down in the morning on news to be on the lookout for.

Starting to use Minds.com. Had the account but am now finally posting. I like it more than Parler. Parler seems far too conservative for my tastes. Minds lets me post on pretty much any topic and someone might have some interest. It's developing, and will take time to draw in more voices, but I think it's worth the effort.
FB and Twitter were pushing my buttons so I had to leave. I know it's my own fault but I'd still rather go elsewhere. Conservative views don't bother but when every Parler follower is like "I'm a gun-toting, First and Second Amendment servant of !@#God#@! it gets tiresome. I'd rather a range, like moderates and even liberals who are willing to discuss rather than shout.

I also have a MeWe account. Mainly because an author I follow of Facebook is getting sick and tired of their censorship.

I personally use a lot of different social media, e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and of course Instagram. In my opinion, Instagram has become one of the most popular and actively used Internet platforms. You can use it both for privat goals or to promote your blog/ product/ business. For this purpose I'd like to recommend zen-promo.com that will help you gein more followers for low price. They also offer some extra functions (spying on your opponent, free 7 days trial). I'm probably gonna look really stupid for asking, but is Instagram a good alternative to Twitter? I'm not really sure what sort of function it has. I mean, is it primarily for sharing pictures, messages, or what? I've looked at reddit, but I could never figure out how things are organized there.

Iakus, I prefer Instagram to Twitter because it has a wide range of functions (stories, chat, ability to send videos, pictures, photos, voice mails and etc.) And the design of Twitter is not catching (IMHO)
